Mission
Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio, Inc. (HFHSA) is an ecumenical Christian non-profit housing organization working in partnership with God's people in need to build simple, decent, and affordable houses.  Established in 1976, HFHSA is the first affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, which is based in Americus, Georgia.  . 

Role Of UCUMC
Universal City United Methodist Church is part of the ‘Ecumenical Genesis Cluster’ which includes four Catholic churches, one Church of Christ and five Methodist churches, all within the greater San Antonio area. This group needs to provide $51,000 to fully sponsor a house.  We currently have a pledge of $35,500 and need assistance in finding more pledges and more churches to add to the group in order to fully sponsor a home for a family.
UCUMC will NEED to provide at least one lunch for workers during the 13-day build schedule. PLEASE CONTACT MARK MUELLER TO HELP!

Build Schedule
The fall build date consists of 13 weeks, starting the weekend of 5-6 September 2008 and scheduled for completion by November 1st. (See schedule for details).
Opportunities exist to volunteer as individuals or groups assisting in building a home and/or providing meals for the volunteers.
