MembershipThe next NewComer Class meets the 4 Sundays in October facilitated by leaders of the church. You’re invited! (That includes current members desiring to learn the info. covered in this class). There will be a special new member Sunday shortly after the class for those who want to become members, but you can also join on another date if that is more convenient.. The purpose of the class is to serve as a reminder of our scriptural and Methodist heritage and as a way of helping you integrate into the life and ministries of this local United Methodist church. As of January 2008, we have 525 members, plus an additional 62 baptized members (baptized children and youth under the age of 19), 6 associate members, and 7 affiliate members who maintain membership in a church in another community. We had 39 new members join the church in 2007.” How to become a member of UCUMCTo become a member of our church, you may: Please call Senior Pastor Myron Ricketts or Associate Pastor Phillip Hefner at 659-5555 to discuss your interest in becoming a member. We ask all who may be interested in membership at UCUMC to attend a 4 session new member class, held one month every quarter. Following that quarter's classes, we have a Membership Sunday on which new members join at the service of their choice. The classes are taught by our pastors and cover church history, United Methodist doctrine, the Social Principles, and the meaning of membership at UCUMC. Mentors also assist new members in becoming familiar with and involved in the church.
