UMW/Women of UCUMC

The Women of UCUMC/United Methodist Women is an organization to enhance the spiritual growth and fellowship among women while raising funds to support a number of worthwhile missions. Last year we held our 11th Annual Variety Arts & Crafts Auction with an Italian dinner, followed by an auction of over 100 handcrafted items including artwork, crafts, and many one-of-a-kind items. The auction is our major fundraising event of the year, providing several thousand dollars for our many mission projects as well as support for UCUMC. A small group meets each month on the 3rd Thursday at 9:30 a.m. and other special events are held throughout the year. Please call Pam Daniel at the church at 659-5555 for info, or email her at pdaniel@ucumctx.org.

Holiday Fair

Coming in October

The Women of UCUMC are sponsoring a Holiday Fair this October 4 from 10-4 to raise money to support our many mission projects, and we need the participation of the entire congregation to make this a rousing success.  In addition to our “in house” shops featuring quality items, we are inviting outside vendors to rent table space, having a café, and providing fun activities for the younger children so their parents can buy, buy, buy!  Listed below are many ways each of you can help with this program.  We look forward to working with you as we do our part to offer Christ to all.

HOW CAN YOU PARTICIPATE?

Donate your time, your talent and/or items to the Holiday Fair Shops listed below
(suggestions for items follow)

BOOK NOOK - quality books, CDs, videos

STITCHERY - handcrafted items, knitted, crocheted, cross-stitched, sewn

PLANTS, ETC. - seedlings, bulbs, plants, garden items

WHITE ELEPHANT - quality, gently used and usable household items

HOME & HOLIDAY DECOR - newly crafted, decorative items such as pillows, wreaths, wood crafts

PANTRY - baked goodies, jams, jellies, pickles, candies

CRAFT BOUTIQUE - jewelry, beadwork, handmade stationery, handmade soaps, candles

SILENT AUCTION - quality items or services to be bid on, specialty items, gift cards

CAFE - call Kathy Hedgepeth or Joanne Lawrence for needs for serving sandwiches, etc.

If you know of a crafter or wish to have your own booth, call Marty Cupp or
Nancy Flatley for information on reserving space.

Finally, support our project by "advertising" to your neighbors, friends and family that they can do their holiday shopping October 4 right here at UCUMC.

All proceeds are intended for the support of our UMW mission projects.

All women of the church are always invited to all UMW events.  A nursery is available.
