Vacation Bible School

VBS Starts in July and it will bring over 150 children from all over the San Antonio area to our church, where we will show and teach them about God's love for them. Your generous contributions help us pay for the G-Force curriculum, kids' t-shirts, decorations, craft and science supplies, and food...lots and lots of food!

This a very important ministry. Almost everyone who went to church as a child has a happy story about VBS. Maybe about a teacher and how they made him or her feel, a pastor who was important to them, or even a friend or family member who shared the experience with them.

We appreciate the ways you help us make happy memories for these children who will come to UCUMC to meet Jesus.

The mission of the Scholarship Ministry Team is to build and manage a permanent endowed scholarship fund to support congregational members and applicants from the church neighborhood in meeting some of their educational goals. Their goal since beginning the fund in 2006 is to build the fund to a level that enables them to grant scholarships out of the yearly earnings (interest/dividends) of the fund. In early 2014 the team had raised approximately half of their goal through donations and a variety of fundraisers. In 2013, they granted the first two scholarships to Rylee Krkosa and Michelle Prichard, UCUMC members and high school seniors, for $500 each.

- Application Eligibility: Those pursuing post-high school education to prepare for a career in a program that is at least one year in length leading to a degree, certificate, or diploma may apply. No restrictions on age or type of degree. Open to UCUMC members, regular attendees at UCUMC for a year or more, and surrounding neighborhood residents.

If you (or someone you know) would like to make a donation, mark your check to UCUMC as "Scholarship Fund."
