Children's Ministry Opportunities
We who serve in Children’s Ministries desire to help children grow in their faith by introducing them to Bible stories and rich experiences of what it means to be a part of the body of Christ. We lead by example. We share ourselves out of a desire to serve others. We invite you and your children to come along with us on this journey of faith.
Our nursery is open and available for children between the ages of birth to 3 years of age from 8:15 am to 12:30 pm each Sunday morning. Your child will be greeted by a loving, experienced staff member and will enjoy participating in an age appropriate curriculum and craft. Snacks are provided. If this is your first time to use the nursery, please ask for a Children’s Ministry Registration Form and fill it out before you leave your child for the first time. You can also find that form …..so you can download it and fill it out ahead of time and bring it with you. We want to know about any food allergies or things we may be able to do to comfort your child while you are apart. We use a pager system so that we might alert you if your child needs you during their stay with us.
Effective February 1, 2018 the nursery will be provided only when a parentmakes a reservation for their meeting orevent by calling the office at 210-659-5555. Reservations must be made by 5pm, Monday -Wednesday, by 3 pm Thursday and Friday and 2 business days before an event or meeting. This will make us good stewards of our child care staff's time ad ministry budget. Thank you!
The nursery is located in the Life Enrichment Center just behind the Sanctuary.
Sunday School is offered at 9:30 AM on Sunday mornings. We offer a rich, Bible based curriculum at each age level as well as a coordinating craft.

Children's Church at 11:00 Service
We invite children to attend the service with their parents. On their way into the sanctuary, children can pick up a Worship Binder which they may use during the first part of the service. Those are located under the sign Children’s Ministry Opportunities. The binders have activities for those busy little fingers until A Time with Young Disciples and Children’s Church.
Children are called forward at the appropriate time where they hear a message which has been prepared just for them. Afterwards the children are invited to attend Children’s Church where a teacher has prepared age appropriate curriculum and crafts. Parents can pick up their children in the Life Enrichment Center building just behind the sanctuary after the service had ended.

This year we will meet at the church and celebrate with our neighbors. Not only are we going to be having some fun (pet costume contest and activities for kids), but with the help of United Methodist Men we will be providing free hot dogs, chips and a drink as a love offering!!
For more details call or text Scott K. at 210-488-3343.
Just before the season of Advent begins, the church offers a festival where folks can come prepare for the season just before Christmas. It’s a great time to get to know others in our community of faith and share in all the festivities.
The Family Christmas Eve Service
This service starts at 4:00 pm and is offered as a time for families to worship together before children have to be tucked into their beds for the night. It is early enough that if you want to go out to dinner you have that opportunity, especially if you have family visiting from out of town.
The Children’s Ministry Team offers a by donation pancake supper the day before the season of Lent begins. Proceeds go to support children’s programing throughout the year.
