Operation Christmas Child was created by Samaritan's Purse, a non-denominational evangelical Christian humanitarian organization working worldwide to assist people in need. The organization’s president is Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham. Samaritan’s Purse works with local churches and ministry partners to deliver the gifts and to share the life changing good news of Jesus Christ. Since 1993 more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experience Gods love through the power of Operation Christmas Child.

Our church has received 100 boxes to fill for boys and girls. You can grab a box that we have in the Narthex, or you can use a shoebox from you house, just make sure that you wrap it with Christmas paper and also wrap the top. Pick an age range 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Then you go shopping and fill it up!!

Some items that you could get are, school supplies- pen pencils crayons paper, books... Toys for your age group - Balls, cars, dolls, stuff animals, kazoos, harmonicas.... Hygiene items- toothbrush with toothpaste, soap, combs, washcloths.... Others items maybe- t-shirts, socks, hats, hair clips... The only items that they have asked NOT to put in are war-related things, food, chocolate, liquids or lotions.

Just Remember that you are buying for GOD'S children!!

Next you need to place $7.00 for each box that you have packed to help cover the shipping cost. You can write a check to Samaritan’s purse or put cash it in the envelope and put that in the box on top of the things that you have put in. Then place a rubber band around the box and return the box to the church. There will be a collection box labeled Operation Christmas Child.

You may write a letter to put in your box. We have flyers that they have provided for you or your kids to fill out, and some of the children may write back.

You can host a packing party with your homerooms or your Bible study groups, or just invite your friends over for fellowship. We have little packets to help you host a great party.

If you would rather make an offering to the Mission of the Month, please use the envelope in the pew. Make sure that you put Operation Christmas Child on it or in the memo line on your check, and the Mission Team will do the shopping and packing for you.
